Legal Careers
All legal careers involve dealing with the law on a
daily basis, but a typical day in the life of a person
with a legal career will vary a great deal depending
on his or her precise position and his or her area of
expertise. Public defenders will spend their days doing
markedly different work than will corporate litigators.
A typical day in the life of a partner in a law firm
will involve business prospecting and substantial interactions
with clients, while a typical day in the life of an
associate will be made up almost entirely of research
and writing. Judges and legal scholars also work with
the law on a daily basis, but from a different perspective
than lawyers.
