Fashion Careers
There are a variety of different career tracks within
the fashion industry. A typical day in the life of a
fashion designer will differ from a typical day in the
life of a fashion merchandiser. Across the board, however,
a fashion career involves working with a broad range
of clothing and accessories, from shirts, pants, and
dresses, to bags, shoes, hats, and everything in between.
A typical day in the life of a designer will require
him or her to draw on his or her creativity, keen eye,
and terrific sense for fashion as well as a great deal
of technical know-how. Fashion marketers or merchandisers
will have to utilize strong business sense and expertise.
